The main advantage of cold-rolled steel pipe is the large cross-section reduction rate, especially the strong wall reduction ability. For carbon steel, the cross-section reduction rate of one rolling can reach 80%~83%, and alloy steel can reach 72%~75%. Its main disadvantage is the difficulty of tool replacement. In addition to being directly used to produce a part of cold-rolled pipes with high precision, the cold rolling method is often used in combination with the cold drawing method to open blanks for cold drawing. This not only gives full play to the wall reduction ability of cold rolling, but also cleverly takes advantage of the easy replacement of cold drawing tools, which is conducive to improving productivity, expanding the production range of products and improving the surface quality of steel pipes.
At present, cold-rolled pipe production multi-purpose periodic cold-rolling mill. The working characteristics of the periodic cold rolling mill are that the steel pipe and mandrel do not move, and the reciprocating movement of the frame drives the rolling and rolling reciprocating rolling steel pipe, and the variable section hole type compression rolled parts are used to achieve the purpose of diameter reduction and wall reduction.
